The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is working closely with Jefferson County Public Health to support health care facilities to receive and distribute the COVID-19 vaccine.

The COVID-19 vaccine will be delivered in Colorado in three phases. because supplies are limited, and it takes time to produce enough vaccine for everyone. We are currently in phase one.

Child Care, Pre-K, and K-12 School Staff

As of February 8, staff at preschools, child care programs and K-12 schools are eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine. This includes teachers (full-time, part-time or substitutes), bus drivers, food service, counselors, administrative staff, and others.

School systems are coordinating with health care providers to determine the best way to get educators vaccinated. Please watch for additional information regarding vaccine registration processes from your school or child care program.

COVID-19 testing is widely available in Jefferson County, and people are encouraged to get tested after any exposure. People are also advised to stay at home if they feel sick.

Keep Wearing Masks, Washing Hands, Distancing

Until most people are vaccinated and the vaccine is widely available, everyone in  Jefferson County should continue to use effective safety practices to stay healthy.

We need to keep wearing our masks, maintaining social distance, washing our hands often, and staying home as much as we can.
