Concerned about How a Child is Growing, Learning or Developing?
Early Intervention serves children birth to age 3 with a developmental delay or disability. Services are offered at no cost to families, there are no income requirements to participate.
An Early Intervention evaluation helps families know if their child needs extra support or is right on track.
Parenting Children 9 to 13 Years Old
To support your child during these years, it’s helpful to understand how they are changing physically and emotionally.
It’s normal for a child at this age to start turning away from their parents and more toward their friends. But children still need the support and guidance of their parents (even when they say they don’t).
Special Education for School-Age Children
Many children need extra support for their development in the early years. Some children will continue to need support as they enter school.
For children who qualify for extra educational support, the public school system will provide special instruction, support and services, at no cost to the family, so each child can reach their full potential. The support plans use acronyms that sound similar and can be confusing : IFSP, IEP, 504 plan.

Let’s Connect
A 10-week parenting workshop focused on supporting strong relationships between children and the adults who care for them.
Each week on Fridays from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., fathers gather for a weekly parenting class via video conference.
As part of the Responsible Fatherhood Program, dads learn about positive parenting styles and skills, self-awareness, and constructive communication techniques for everyday problem-solving. Dads also get to connect with one another and build relationships based on their shared experiences.
